We liked wonderful breakfasts and unforgettable views!
Picturesque location, super bed and, of course, genuinely friendly staff.
Spectacular place to stay while in Edinburgh. Yummy food, responsive staff, very comfy beds. There were beautiful bathroom and airy room. The downstairs bar was magnificent and the drinks were local.
Comfortable base for 2 nights. The location and facilities was what makes that place ideal. The workers where really friendly. Enjoyed that a mini-fridge-bar, a private safe and a seating area in the room were provided. Moreover, hotel offered us free Wi Fi.
The decoration is interesting. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
TBH, the room was tiny, we expected better.
Near to the downtown, 5 minutes on foot. It met standards and we can't wait to come back.
i asked for a complaining form and they didnt have any. The room was untidy and the bathroom dirty. I stayed there for 5 night and the staff didnt clean the bins until last day. They left cushions over the room, on the floor. the matress of the double bed was broken. I asked the staff and said all of them were the same, no possibility to change. The TV was not working and tyhe light wasnt wither when we wope up one day. Almost all of the times that I asked for something the staff werent very nice. I am not happy at all with the treat it was given to me in this hotel Will never come back again.
I didn't like it
The room was noisy and smelly from the kitchen. I aske several times for a remote control for the TV, and they broght it the last day of my stay..
The location was excellent, staff very polite and helpfull.
The lack of a bar for older people and the noise from the bar downstairs could cause a problem for families.
yes, room standard appalling, no curtains though had said person staying was needing to sleep having been up all night on our IT system
The staff was kind and responsive. The location was excellent. The room was clean and quiet (we stayed on a Monday night.) We liked it very much and would stay again. The location is really outstanding.
We had read previous complaints about noise and cleanliness. The elevator did have a strong urine smell, but otherwise we found the hotel to be appropriately clean and comfortable. It is over a popular bar/club so if that scene is not for you, this would not be a great choice.
The location was fine.
The room stank of mildew - probably connected to the water stained/ leaking walls and ceiling. There was no internet access (when I asked about it, the front desk person told me it was broken, they didn't know when it would be fixed, but they'd been sending people to their sister property which had free wireless. At no point during the four days we were there were we able to connect to the internet, nor did we get anything more than a cursory 'sorry'), the phone didn't work (someone yanked the socket out of the wall), the sheets were dirty (coffee stains). They featured a 'guests only lounge' which is open after hours - it actually doesn't exist anymore (and sounds like it never did). .
Convenient for city centre
Room had an extra bed in it taking up space and the double was 2 singles pushed together. Shower was partly broken, bathroom in need of decoration, windows had blocks of wood nailed to frames.
the location is great, 5 min walk off the Royal Mile. The pub downstairs was great, very convenient is you want to relax immediately after you arrive. All in all a good place to stay, good beds, clean room, nice atmosphere.
If you can't handle some noise at night, don't bother booking this hotel. Our room was at the front, so we could hear the sounds from the pub, but we were so tired we couldn't care less. The light in de bathroom didn't work and one of the blinds didn't go up anymore, I told that to the desk-lady when we checked out and she apologized 5 times.
Absolutely disgusting, would never stay here again, the place was a total dump, I would have complained but there was not receptionist anywhere to be found in the morning. I cant't believe Booked.net would risk their reputation on a place like this they obviously do not inspect the hotels they sell rooms for, the pictures are a total misrepresentation of what you are in store for, do not stay here!!!!!!!!
